Why? They’re the only ones giving out their models for free at the frontier?

I don’t understand the “need” when you’re benefiting the public good?

They use a lot of compute providers now, but they use Cloudflare for their networking

Kinda like code reviews these days

I’m assuming the same way Mozilla was bought by the industry. Indirectly through a network of interests.

At least I'd be in control of model quality vs. when Anthropic decides to randomly drop the quality of their offering

what if the fun for them is the game engine? because game devs are customers too, it's technical product dev.

their stated goal is to become a self-sustaining indie game dev. They fail because instead of shipping a game they spent time making an engine and then running out of funds an having to get job not making their own stuff.

If their stated goal was to make a game engine then sure. That wasn't their stated goal.

i see. thanks for the context.

I mean, isn't that all counter-intelligence? They wouldn't want to be seen?

The entire US powergrid is so vulnerable right now, if there really was a cyber cold war the entire thing could be shut off overnight probably.

Given that it's not happening, then it's probably just not a thing.

It’s definitely happening.

Don’t mistake prepositioning for “not happening.” As you said: “cyber cold war” means there are a lot of incentives not to reveal capabilities or trigger escalation from your adversaries. https://www.cisa.gov/news-events/cybersecurity-advisories/aa...

Although, that is changing as we continue to escalate. https://www.cisa.gov/news-events/news/cisa-fbi-epa-and-us-go...

If you’re not convinced the threat is real and the cyber warfare is happening, I highly recommend checking out Nocole Perleoth’s To Catch a Thief. S1E7 is especially relevent: Everything Everywhere All at Once. https://www.rubrik.com/lp/to-catch-a-thief-podcast

Where?

Here. There. Over there too.

I just deployed this to production to replace our self-hosted Postgres - and we’re experiencing corruption. Can you help us out?

Yes. Email me and Jason at malis@pgrust.com and jason@pgrust.com

Wow ok fair enough. Sorry to put you through a fire drill but I wanted to see if there would be support or not.

I stand corrected, there is. Wishing you the best of luck here.

Wow does it feel good to read human prose again. It just feels so - refreshing. Like cold water in a desert
