As we all know spam text messages aren't a thing since it's very costly and hard to spoof cell phone numbers.

Those kind of SMS check usually ban voip providers. So you need a real line or a prepaid cellphone, and it can presumably only be used once or twice on this service before the number is "burned".

Such checks, although not perfect, do prevent a huge amount of spam and bots by having a very real cost for bots/spammers, and essentially no cost (other than their privacy) for the user.

Even a one cent toll is enough to change the economics of many bot behaviours.

It should be in the post-training though. Hallucination rates are a fraction of what they used to be as a result

You can set these policies at an org level in ChatGPT business and Claude team

- Claude Team plan is limited to 150 now[1]. You can mix between Premium (equivalent of Max 5x) and standard (Pro like)

- ChatGPT business is not user count limited (AFAIK) however business plan only supports the equivalent of Plus there is no Pro equivalent.

For larger organizations it will still come down to usage billing . The ChatGPT plan is quite limiting for most users and the only option is usage/credit billing for more consumption. Claude has the more generous usage in Team but limited to 150 users.

Well, there's a limit to how small we can make transistors with our current technology. As I understand it, Intel is already running into those limits with their new CPUs (they had to redesign the fins IIRC). I can imagine that without an actual breakthrough in chip manufacturing the size could stay large. That's not to say that a breakthrough won't happen, though.

Yes, in 2D, but NAND has been using layers for a while. We call HBM interposers 2.5D. 3D breakthrough would be pretty easy but for those pesky problems like power delivery and cooling. (/s)

That's the part that people are missing: it won't get smaller. It already required heroic optimization to get 8B on one megachip. Taalas is more expensive but faster. It is cheaper per token when running 24x7 but not cheap to buy. It will never be small and never be cheap.

This is a very good point. I pay more in state income taxes than the $10k cap, which means I don't get any real estate tax write offs. My now wife completely lost her $10k salt deduction after the marriage.

The biggest item on SALT is the real estate taxes and mortgage interest expense. A household has only one address - and thus it makes sense to have tax deduction for just one real estate/ mortgage interest expense. As such it makes sense to share the SALT cap - just like sharing the home.

(also the fact that biggest beneficiaries of SALT are states either high housing costs and these states tend to be Democrat leaning states made it easy for Trump to cap the SALT deduction in his 2018 tax cuts)

Yes, because lots of these comments seem to imply that more money necessarily makes it better, which is often not the case.
